Well of Souls is Issue 3 of d12 Sites, my location zine for Dungeons & Dragons.
d12 Sites is a zine that covers a new location you can drop anywhere in your own D&D campaign world.
Issue 3 is covers the Well of Souls. It features an ancient well that is used to store the bodies of those who are forgotten. But there is a secret to the Well of Souls that not even the Keepers of Souls know. Can the PCs figure out this secret before they succumb to it!?
In a recent post I listed what I wanted to achieve in 2022, and thought it may be a good idea on what I have done so far this year.
It’s only been just over one month but it has been productive so far. I will update this post each month to see where I am at and what I have managed to get done.
Issue 15 of my Dungeons and Dragons zine is out!
Issue 15 is all about, well, lot’s of things. It will feature articles on combat manoeuvres, unusual magical weapons, how governments & rulers deal with spellcasters, lingering magical effects, and much more! (See below for details).
The third edition of Dungeons and Dragons (3e) introduced a great arrow in the quiver of any GM’s bow: the monster template.
This article will help you understand what monster templates are and how you can apply them to any edition of D&D that you play.
Issue 14 of my Dungeons and Dragons zine is out!
Issue 14 is all about Fey. It will feature articles on what fey actually are, types of fey, where they come from, how elves fit in, as well as 3 new fey monsters, plus hags and their magic, and much more! (See below for details).
Here are the resources I have in my ring-binder folder that I use whenever I solo roleplay.
I have added this over time and it is a combination of hand-written tables and tables and other information taken from various sources.
I have changed stuff to suit my own preferences and recommend you do this as well.
Hopefully this will get you started. Don’t be overwhelmed – just pick two or three of the references linked below and start from there.
This month I will be launching a new zine to accompany my fairly successful Dungeons &Dragons zine, d12 Monthly.
This new zine is called d12 Sites, and will feature a new location each month which can be dropped easily into any GMs on-going campaign.
Issue 13 of my Dungeons and Dragons zine is out!
Issue 13 is a special Old School Essentials (OSE) issue. It will feature articles on expanding the Thief skills, new rules including how to handle monsters only hit with magic weapons, two brand new classes for OSE, new rules for critical hits and fumbles, and much more! (See below for details).

I thought it would be fun to rate each edition of D&D.
This is completely down to personal taste and you are free to agree or disagree (feel free to do so in the comments below).
I have also added in some strengths and weaknesses for each. As well as a short blurb.
I am also going to be honest and upfront and say I have not played every edition – some of the earlier editions I haven’t played as I started with AD&D and haven’t had a chance to go back and play them all. I have noted this where appropriate.
